Introduction

So we have looked at how you can go about identifying the areas and properties that you want to look at but now I want to give you some guidance about how to go about viewing properties.

My first job in Spain, way back in those wonderful days when I had a full head of hair and an ability to drink without getting a hangover, was as a Sales Rep taking buyers on inspection trips.

This would involve collecting prospective property buyers from the airport, putting them up in a hotel, spending 3-4 days showing them properties and developments before, assuming we found a property they liked, dealing with reservation contracts and taking them back to the airport.

In this section I want to draw from that experience and, so the information is largely directed at people who will be making relatively short trips to spain, specifically to look for property; however I will assume that, rather than dealing with one agent alone, you are going to plan and execute the inspection trip under your own steam. If however you are already based in Spain, perhaps renting long term and taking your time over a property search then this is still worth reading as there will be plenty of tips that you will pick up to help you along the way.
